The Market on Stephen Avenue

Sept 5, 2017

This one-day event will be a great occasion to do shopping in a car-free setting. Three downtown blocks will be open to pedestrian traffic for shopping at over 60 popular vendors. Fashion and jewelry items will be readily available. In addition to these great wearable items, you’ll also be able to select great food items that include fresh pastries and treats, spices, sauces, and bread.

Honens Festival

Sept 7 – 10, 2017

Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary at this prestigious piano festival! The festival showcases the Honens Laureates, as well as some of Canada’s best classical pianists. The performances will highlight great community performances, as well as innovations in music styles. This festival is always a treat for music lovers.

Halloweekends at Calaway Park

Sept 9 – Oct 9, 2017

Get an early start on the Halloween fun with spooky Halloweekends presented at Calaway Park. Hallo-Street is open on weekends from September 9th through October 9th. Roxy, Billy and the rest of the Boo Crew are waiting to give you the spooky time of your life.

Circle the Wagons

Sept 9, 2017

The Circle the Wagons event will bring its usual excitement, along with a celebration of Canada’s 150th. Besides enjoying local food and beer, you’ll be able to see and hear exciting performances. You can even bring your dog, making this an event that is truly fun for the whole family.

Calgary International Film Festival

Sept 20 – Oct 1, 2017

The Calgary International Film Festival lasts for 12 days, and introduces attendees to over 200 films that include virtually every genre. Both Canadian and international films make their debut here. Movie fans and the directors and producers have plenty of opportunities to interact with each other during the festival, including question and answer sessions and galas.

These September events are a great way to enjoy the many fun things that Calgary offers. From opportunities to enjoy local food and drinks to music events of different genres, you can always find something that will help you have a great time. Because several of these events are good for families, members of your household and guests will also look forward to these events.
